Chinese Herbal Medicine
Chinese Herbal Medicine is one of the oldest medicine treatments, and is similar to Ayurvedic medicine. Chinese herbal formulas were written more than 2,000 years ago, and is based on theories of Yin/Yang, Five Element, and acupuncture channels. Herbs can be very helpful either in combination with acupuncture, or taken alone. They are prescribed using the same method as acupuncture. The most common way of taking herbs is either by brewing a tea from the raw herbal materials, or drinking them as a powdered extract similar to instant coffee. Many patients see energy boosts within one week after taking Chinese herbal medicine, and there are no side effects.
Dr. Kim is the only practitioner in Oklahoma to provide Chinese herbal medicine, and has the largest selection of Chinese herbs in the Midwest.
One package of herbal medicine consists of 5 to 20 different herbs. Herbal medicine is available for purchase to brew at home. We also provide the service of brewing the tea for patients, at an additional cost. The clinic also has capsules and pills available for purchase.
